Asparagus in April

It was chilly for a work day in April, but several people came out on Wednesday to help plant the broccoli and swiss chard we started at Red Hill Farms three weeks ago. Rowan and Ida getting to work!

There was much joy in discovering this beautiful asparagus! The asparagus is a perennial vegetable that was originally planted by Tim Beatley’s Community Food Leadership class back in 2010, so we were very excited to see it doing so well. It was very tasty! We also watered the beds!
