Donation to the Local Food Hub

Last Thursday, Michelle and I had the pleasure of making the UVa Community Garden’s first donation of the season to the Local Food Hub as part of their “plant a row for the hungry” campaign.  We were able to donate 7 lbs of cucumbers, several small bags of rosemary, and several bunches of basil.  The Local Food Hub will then distribute this produce to one of Charlottesville’s local organizations working to ensure everyone has plenty of food to eat – organizations include the Haven, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and the Salvation Army, among others.  We are so happy to be able to contribute healthy, fresh food to these organizations and will continue to do so throughout the summer.  If you have extra garden produce you would like to donate, please let us know and we are happy to connect you with the Local Food Hub or deliver it for you when we go.
