We wrapped up the final workday of the season by giving the produce under the ‘adjusted’ cold frame a little taste test. Who knew purple dragon carrots and bullseye beets could be so delectable? I can’t wait until after break when they are actually big enough to harvest!

Between munching on carrots, sugar snap peas, and chard we also managed to distribute most of the mulch around the beds, as Dana put it: “tucking in the plants,” and do some soil testing. Thankfully, all the beds we tested demonstrated neutral pH and were categorized as “very fertile.” So we can look forward to some luscious greens this spring! Speaking of luscious greens…there is still an abundance of swiss chard, and it just keeps growing, so please feel free to harvest some for you dinner table!
