Updates

Good workday today – great to see our loyal volunteers!  We planted some more carrots, weeded, watered and harvested.  If you haven’t made it out yet – we’re at the garden every Tuesday morning from 9am-11:30am and 4pm-6pm on Thursdays.

Here are a few pictures from other recent garden happenings….

  • Visit from the Farm at Red Hill, September  24, 2009.  For more information about The Farm at Red Hill, please check out their “Meet the Farmer” interview: http://meetthefarmer.tv/shows/11

  • I also finally harvested the “mystery” melon over fall break after realizing it had a significant rotting spot.  Not sure if the inside would even be ripe, I gingerly cut into the melon without any expectations.  Much to my surprise, the inside was bright green with a tinge of orange around the seeds, smelled, and tasted super sweet.  We still don’t know what variety the melon was, but it tasted delicious.  Next year we’ll have to plant more melons!
